| EDIT: I just reset the images of all the Lynx currently listed as For Sale (with a price set). There are some really beautiful Lynx available right now, for all price ranges! I was actually quite pleased to see how some of the faded-marking Lynx began to really shine when they were reset. I encourage you all to take a look, especially at ones you may have looked over before due to faded colors and/or higher gen. :) It would appear the winter snow has had some affect on our Lynx breed! After coming in from playing outside in the cold (throwing snowballs of course), we noticed something different about them. It would appear that their fur has become more realistic, with highlights and shadows, showing off their beautiful coloring as well as that thick and luxurious fur! As you may have guessed from the above description, our Lynx breed lineart has been upgraded! The original Lynx was lovely, but I am sure you noticed that the shading on the fur was very "gray". There was not much differentiation between light and dark, and your colors were a bit muddied by the overall gray. This was particularly noticeable on lighter colors of course, especially pure white which was never actually pure! There was never actually ANY pure color on the Lynx that showed through the overall gray shading. (Pure color being areas of greatest highlight which would display the exact color of that Lynx's basecolor and/or marking color.) We wanted to remedy this, and also make the fur more realistic for our fluffy and plush Lynx. :) The new shading is available right now, and will be displayed on all Lynx that are refreshed (it is not an option to keep the original shading for your Pumas). We do not at this time have a plan to do a general reset of all Lynx on the site, but this may occur in the future so please keep that in mind. Here are some examples of the changes. I have created a "grayscale" solid color Lynx gradient image so you can see the immediate difference. The NEW Lynx is on the top, with the ORIGINAL Lynx on the bottom. This will be followed by pairs of images, with the NEW Lynx on the left and the ORIGINAL Lynx on the right. Click the images to see the full sized versions. If anyone has any serious concerns about the appearance of their Lynx, please contact me via Private Message. | Is the weather outside frightfully cold? Does the warm fire look quite delightful? We've got no place to go-- Pumas need to frolic in the snow! That's right: the Winter Festival has arrived! Starting right now and running until the end of the day on January 10, 2013 you can help celebrate with our fine furred friends. :) This festival is an whole month long, giving you plenty of time to celebrate the season on P3 and with your real life friends and family too! What can you look forward to? Well... Gifting Stump: 'Tis the season of giving, so what better way than with our festive Gifting Stump. Send gifts for your fellow P3 members to find and enjoy. You can even send anonymously, if you'd like to be a "Secret Pooma". :) Snowball Fight!: Toss snowballs on user profiles once an hour! There are tons of great new and returning prizes, but watch out! You can also miss and receive... well, you'll see. ;) Tons of Shop Goodies: That's right, you had better head over to the Site Shops and see what is available! We have brand new items, as well as some returning items from previous festivals. Corner Icon: A quick reminder how corner icons work. If there is no icon-- the item will be sticking around after the festival as a normal item! If there is a Winter Festival icon with NO year-- the item is only available during the festival, but should be back next year! If there is a Winter Festival icon with "12" in the corner-- the item is ONLY available until January 10th and will be retired at the end of the festival! VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: This is our 4th Winter Festival! As such, returning items first released in 2009 will be RETIRED on January 10th! This is our first festival where we have items that were released 4 years ago. You can expect this will occur in all events/festivals from now on. Returning festival items will be available for 4 years before they go into retirement. :) (There are a couple of "special case" items that were released in 2009 but will not be retiring yet-- namely, the Fruitcake and the Lemon Snow Cone!) | The Gemologist shop is now stocking Emerald Orbs for 10 TE. In the past, Emerald Orbs were only received as leftover "change" when you used an Orb of greater value to create a Custom Puma from the Orb Cavern. We have had a lot of requests to allow the purchase of Emerald Orbs directly from our Gemologist, so it seemed like it was time to add them and try it out. Emerald Orbs will still be received as change when making customs as they have in the past. They are also still required in order to make a Markingless Puma. We would love to hear your feedback about this change, so please feel free to give us your thoughts in the news comments (or send a private PM to either PhantomFire #1 or myself!). |

| For eligible Pumas, there should be a new button in the "Puma Profile Editing" section of the Puma Profile. If a Puma is located in the public Pride area, it will say: "Move to Private Back Den". Clicking on it will instantly move your Puma to your back den. If a Puma is located in the Private Back Den area, it will say: "Move to Public Pride". Clicking on it will instantly move your Puma to your public Pride. These buttons should work the same as their drop down menu counterparts that can be seen on the main Pride page and Private Back Den page. NOTE: As always, Alpha Pumas cannot be moved to the Private Back Den. In addition, For Sale Pumas also cannot be moved via this method (you must use the For Sale Options in order to remove your Puma from sale). |

| Private Messages - Delete Multiples from Inbox | |

| I've just uploaded some changes to the Inbox for Private Messages. You should now be able to delete multiple PMs via the checkboxes on the right-hand side. Just click the ones you want, and scroll to the bottom to press the "Delete Selected PMs" button! You can also Select All for the Inbox page you are viewing to make it easier to delete an entire page at once. :) I would highly recommend doing a hard refresh of the inbox page, just in case your browser has decided to be aggressive about caching as there are some Javascript effects as well. :) (For example, selected PMs will have a light red/pink background. Hopefully this will make it easier to see which PMs will be removed!) If you notice any glitches or bugs, please do report so we can get them fixed up. Enjoy! |

| Just wanted to explain the minor change I made today for the Private Message system. How it worked previously: When you click reply on a message, the entire message you are replying to would be quoted in your reply under the dashed line. Unfortunately, this has resulted in absolutely enormous PM exchanges between two people since the auto-quote grabbed everything. :) I'm sure a lot of you know exactly what I mean! So, to combat this and help give the database some breathing room, there is now a limit to how much text is auto-quoted when you click "reply". This limit is currently 500 characters. You will see a "... [snip]" if text has been truncated. No worries, you can still type as much as you want into a PM and even copy/paste from another PM if you want to answer questions point by point (for example). This ONLY affects the auto-quoting. (As of right now, this only affects NEW replies. I will be coming up with a solution for truncating some of the older PMs as well.) |
