| We have made some adjustments to how your Birthday information is used on P3, and we are giving you the option to decide your privacy settings. Under YOU -> OPTIONS there is now a new section called Birthday Privacy. There is information there explaining what it means, and also a checkbox for you to make your decision. If you click the checkbox, you are allowing P3 to share your birthday month/day publicly on the site: • Display a Gifting Stump on your Profile on your birthday day. • Display a "gift" icon next to your name in the Users Online list on your birthday day. • Other possible birthday events, such as showing you on a list of "upcoming birthdays" or other gifts/activities in the future. NOTE: We will never share the YEAR associated with your birthdate, just the month and day. If you DO NOT click the checkbox, P3 will not share your birthday month/day on the site (the year is never shared publicly). That means the following: • There will be NO Gifting Stump on your Profile on your birthday day. • There will be NO "gift" icon next to your name in the Users Online list on your birthday day. • You will NOT be included in any birthday events, such as showing you on a list of "upcoming birthdays" or other gifts/activities in the future. By default, I have set ALL users active in the last 6 months to allow the birthday sharing (your box will be auto-clicked!). This is because people are used to having their Gifting Stump on their birthday, so I would not want anyone active in the last 6 months to accidentally miss out due to this change. ALL new accounts from this point onward (and anyone not active in 6 months) will have to "opt-in" to these Birthday features. That means they will need to go to the YOU -> OPTIONS page and click the checkbox under Birthday Privacy if they would like to have a Gifting Stump, etc. This setting can be changed by you at any time! | Woot!! :D :D I'm excited about this! I really really would like some sort of reminder as to whom has birthdays when and whatnot so that I *can* remember to gift things to those that would like them. :) Yay ^.^ | ||

| I' ve been hoping for something similar since posting on the ideas thread a few months ago. I'd love to be more aware of birthdays and gift people that aren't always on line when I am. I don't keep my birth year a secret, and can't believe I'll be hitting a major (for me) landmark next year. But, inside, I feel many, many years younger. Thankfully t'internet tends to make everyone ageless :-D |
