| Ironically, Harry Chapin came and performed his song "Cat's in the Cradle" for my second grade music class sometime back in 1980/ 1981. We were learning about American Folk Music at the time... Ella Jenkins was also a guest performer. Anyway, until mrsgunsage posted her selection, I hadn't thought about Mr. Chapin in many, many years. So, I Googled him and was slightly saddened to learn he died in 1981... couldn't have been too long after giving my class such a wonderful personal performance. | ||

| Animals! The best thing there is in this planet! I've had many pets, sadly now I only have... well my pet rock. But I have many fond memories with my pets, as well as scars on my body to remind me of them... I miss each and every of them <3 a great M3! | ||

| Songs about animals.... I know for a lot of people music is like food for the soul - it gives them comfort, makes them forget their troubles, makes them feel happy, helps them get through their day, their week - their life. I feel the same way about my "animals" - my dogs and cats who give unconditional love and acceptance and comfort without thinking about it every single day of their lives. Music about animals is the perfect mix - lol even if some of the references are obscure. Life wouldn't really be "living" without either of them. |

| I didnt realize there were so many animal songs i never heard before! Wow some of them are classic to me like eye of the tiger that played at all the roller skating events when i was in school lol and of course elvis is always awesome love all these songs new to me and ones i heard before! | ||
