"Midas Man" Singer: Annie Haslam. OMG I get goosebumps. She is IT for me as far as vocals go. Midas Man Band Name:Yes..."Soon" Singer: Jon Anderson.... The man has vocals of gold and silver. Soon Band name:Demis Roussos....."Song for The Free" I LOVE his voice. It's quirky but powerful. Song For The Free As I stated last week, We want YOUR songs! PLEASE though, don't send more than 2 suggestions at a time. If you find NEW stuff to suggest, feel free to send, just don't keep sending the same song over and over :) If you wish to suggest music, you must PRIVATE message me directly with the link and the subject line "Suggestion for Music". It would help me a GREAT deal if you would also include the name of the band and the song with your video clip. I am running into removed videos and I have no way to search w/o information included. Also, If you discover I did NOT use your particular clip It's usually because it isn't available, isn't playing properly or has a long commercial in front of it. I will try to search out a good version when this happens. Theme for next week is "Cover Songs"What does that mean? Know a song that had multi bands / singers perform it? | Holy cow, I never realized that was actually Dr. Callie singing that song. I assumed it was dubbed by a professional. xD She does have a great voice, and it takes a lot for me to like a female singer. Speaking of, that's the Nightwish singer I do like - the other is too b'gawk. xD And a litle trivia - Peter Steele is Ville Valo's hero. ;) | ||

| oh wow, I can't believe I forgot to get in my entry for this one. *smacks forehead* I had planned on submitting Mandy Moore's 'Only Hope' from the movie A Walk To Remember, but I forgot! I love Mandy Moore's voice all around, but that song is one of those that, as much as I love to belt it out and sing along, I just can't do it with that song, I just close my eyes and enjoy it! As far as the chosen picks, I'm not surprised to see Barbara Streisand or Mariah Carey up there, very beautiful voices. I am thrilled to see Martina McBride, she is one of my favorite country singers! I love the song by H.I.M., I think I found a new band I really like! I think it's awesome to see that Anastasia song up there, I absolutely love Disney movies and the songs that go along with them! In fact, that would make a great topic someday, Disney Movie songs! That would be a hard one to narrow down though, I love so many! XD |

| OMG I totally FORGOT about H.I.M. I loved wings of a butterfly :D ^.^ I wasn't too keen on the rest of their albums, tbh, but that song was a great. Also, yay for some Queen. :D I was introduced to them by a roomie I had in college but it ended up being a good introduction. Thinking of them makes me think of the good times I had with that roomie :D And yes, that particular vocalist for Nightwish IS a great one Silvery ... I do think I fancy her more than the previous. |

| Omg! I love love this song that Rat suggested! "Once Upon A December" It's so sad when your children grow up and you've no excuses to make everyone watch those great cartoons...unless ofcourse i am by myself and don't have to explain to anyone...lol great songs today! Thanks so much to everyone made me feel a little better this morning |

| What I don't like about Once Upon A December is that the singer sounds like every other cartoon movie princess (Ariel, Belle etc) I liked Mulan's voice because it was a bit different. Angels - sorry I'm just not into songs about everyone loving everyone (the only exception is Imagine) and I dont really like his voice either - it's not strong enough - too "breathy". I actually thought about submitting a Kenny Rogers song. I really like his voice. It's perfect for his storytelling type of songs and it's always pleasant to listen to. 100 Years is a nice song - the kind you don't mind coming on the radio when you get in the car. The guys voice wasnt a "The Voice" kind to me personally though. Andre Bochelli was almost another one of my pics :) I am 1/3 Welsh so I've got to approve of Paul Robesons voice and the choice of song. If you dont listen to any other part of A Piece of Sky - listen to the final note. No auto-tuning, no voice training. How many other singers can hold a perfect 20 second high note? I loved just about all the songs from Yentl - but more than that I loved the story of a woman who wanted to be the equal of men - free to choose her own destiny. I've heard Midas Man a few times this week (nice job on the video upload Alex) - sorry I think Babs beats her :p The lyrics to Soon didnt start til 1.20 - I'd almost wandered off by then. His voice is very suited to that type of song. I can see why you like it Alex :) Demis has a great voice - it's unique. I like Una Paloma Blanca and Forever and Ever of his. I dont think there would be a very big market for his type of music today - not the mainstream - which is a shame. We always need variety. Sometimes it's hard to work out whether it's the singer or the song that you like. I think next week's topic "Cover Songs" is a great way to test this out!! |

| I like the show The Voice simply because the coaches dont see what the person looks like they are turned around and have to judge the singer on the voice alone. I like to listen to various music genres and listen to songs with my eyes closed. This way you are only using one sense to judge the music, your ears alone. I loved all these selections this week. Each one I clicked and then just closed my eyes and got lost in the melodies and music. Liz Callaway (born April 13, 1961) is an American actress and singer, famous for providing the singing voices of many female characters in films, such as Anya/Anastasia in Anastasia, Odette in The Swan Princess, and the Adult Kiara in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. Thats probably why you didnt like Once upon a December Allira, Her voice is a popular choice for Cartoon movies. Personally I adore that song for a different reason, It brings back very sad but precious memories of me and my great neice watching the movie together in her hospital room just before she passed away from leukemia.We both had princess tiaras on and munched on some popcorn and had a drink of pepsi while we enjoyed the movie and giggled at the funny parts. |
